Why is humankind on earth?  Why do we exist?

Are humans cruelly exiled on this tiny planet spinning alone in the cosmos – the only known life-sustaining place in the universe, to live out our short lives without purpose, and then suffer, die and dissolve into dust in a meaningless grave?

Or, does our Creator have a Master Plan that He has revealed to us in His Word that spans from the beginning of Creation until the end of the ages of the earth, into Eternity?

·      Psalm 139 - God knows all about us.

·      DNA – God has established a master plan embedded in each of the 37.2 Trillion cells in our body…so that each cell would know its specific place in our body, from the 3 billion base pair double helix genetic information God has tightly folded into each cell.

God also Has a Master Plan for His Creation

God has Securely Revealed the Future to His People through His Word, the Bible, by the Inspiration of His Holy Spirit.

This is a look at His Revealed Plan!

  1. The Beginning.  God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:1

1In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:27

27So God created man in His own image…

Genesis 1:31

31God saw all that He had made, and it was very good!

  1. The Fall.  When sin corrupted mankind, God promised the Messiah. (Genesis 3:15; [Death through Adam, Life through Christ] Romans 5:12, 15)

Romans 5:12, 15

Death Through Adam, Life Through Christ

12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—

15 But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many.

Genesis 3:15 – The Promise of a Messiah, at “the Fall”

15 “And I will put enmity

        between you and the woman,

        and between your offspring and hers;

he will crush your head,

and you will strike his heel.”

  1. The Promise, continued.  Faithful Abram was given the promise of a multitude of descendants and in his offspring (the Christ) all the families of the earth will be blessed.  (Genesis 12:1–3; Gal. 3:16)

Genesis 12:1–3

The Call of Abram

1 The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.

2 “I will make you into a great nation

        and I will bless you;

I will make your name great,

and you will be a blessing.

3 I will bless those who bless you,

        and whoever curses you I will curse;

and all peoples on earth

        will be blessed through you.”

Galatians 3:16

16 Now the promises were made to Abraham and to his offspring. It does not say, “And to offsprings,” referring to many, but referring to one, “And to your offspring,” who is Christ.

  1. The Birth of a Nation.  Abram was told his descendants (the Israelites), would be afflicted (in Egypt), but would be delivered. (Genesis 15:13–20)

Genesis 15:13–20

13Then the Lord said to him, “Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated four hundred years. 14 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions. 15You, however, will go to your fathers in peace and be buried at a good old age. 16 In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.”

17 When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces. 18 On that day the Lordmade a covenant with Abram and said, “To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates— 19 the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, 20 Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites,

  1. Israel’s History.  (Genesis 12 – 2 Chron. 36, etc.)  From Abraham, to Israel’s Exodus from Egypt, through the Prophets, Judges and Kings of both Israel and Judah – for hundreds of years, God guided, protected, blessed and disciplined Israel, His Chosen People, through whom the promised Messiah would come.

  1. The Dispersion.  The Nation of Israel was Judged and Disbursed into Captivity in Assyria.

The Dispersion, after Assyria conquered the northern kingdom of Israel and Samaria in 722 BC, and following Assyria’s continued conquering of the southern kingdom in Judah, first in 597 AD and after the destruction of Solomon’s Temple in 586 BC (2 Kings 21:10–15; 24:3–4; 25:8–11; 2 Chron. 36:15-16)

2 Kings 21:10–15

10 The Lord said through his servants the prophets: 11 “Manasseh king of Judah has committed these detestable sins. He has done more evil than the Amorites who preceded him and has led Judah into sin with his idols. 12 Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I am going to bring such disaster on Jerusalem and Judah that the ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle. 13 I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measuring line used against Samaria and the plumb line used against the house of Ahab. I will wipe out Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down. 14 I will forsake the remnant of my inheritance and hand them over to their enemies. They will be looted and plundered by all their foes, 15 because they have done evil in my eyes and have provoked me to anger from the day their forefathers came out of Egypt until this day.”

2 Chronicles 36:15–16

15 The Lord, the God of their fathers, sent persistently to them by his messengers, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place. 16 But they kept mocking the messengers of God, despising his words and scoffing at his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose against his people, until there was no remedy.

  1. The Messiah.  After roughly 400 years of silence (between the final prophet in Old Testament and John the Baptist in the New Testament), God became flesh and dwelt among us – the promise of God’s Messiah and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, was fulfilled! (Acts 3:18; Isaiah 53; etc.)  Jesus died, rose again and ascended to His Father, where He intercedes for us! (Rom. 8:34)

Acts 3:18

18 But what God foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that his Christ would suffer, he thus fulfilled.

Isaiah 53

4 Surely he took up our infirmities

        and carried our sorrows,

yet we considered him stricken by

God, smitten by him, and afflicted.

5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,

        he was crushed for our iniquities;

the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,

and by his wounds we are healed.

6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,

each of us has turned to his own

way; and the Lord has laid on him

        the iniquity of us all.

Romans 8:34

34 Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.

  1. The Diaspora.

The dispersion of the Jews from Israel and eventually to the ends of the earth, after the destruction of the Second Temple in AD 70, for 2,000 years, until 1948.

Following Christ’s Crucifixion, Resurrection and Ascension, this Jewish dispersion also included the early Jewish Christians, who through persecution for their faith, also carried with them the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which they spread throughout the whole known world.

DIASPORA (διασπορά, diaspora). The dispersion of Jewish people or communities outside the land of Israel. A theme especially in Second Temple Judaism (fifth century BC—AD70) and the New Testament.[1]

  1. The Church.  The Mystery fulfilled of All Nations offered Redemption through Jesus Christ. (Col. 1:26-27; Eph. 3:8-10; Rom. 16:25-26, etc.)

Colossians 1:26–27

26 the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. 27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Ephesians 3:8–10

8 To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things, 10 so that through the church the manifold wisdom of Godmight now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.

Romans 16:25–26

25 Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages 26 but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith—

  1. The Reestablishment of Israel as a Nation in 1948 after 2,000 years of the nation being disbursed, because of their disobedience to God, to the ends of the earth.  (Ez. 36-37; 36:24; Jer. 16:14-15; etc.)

Ezekiel 36:24

24 I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land.

Jeremiah 16:14–15

The Lord Will Restore Israel

14 “Therefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when it shall no longer be said, ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’ 15 but ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.’ For I will bring them back to their own land that I gave to their fathers.

The Times of the End.  (Matthew 24; Mark 13; Daniel, Ezekiel, Revelation, etc.)

Matthew 24

Signs of the End of the Age

  1. Deceivers abound seeking to spiritually lead many astray (vs. 4-5)

  2. Wars and rumors of wars (vs. 6-7a)

  3. Famines and earthquakes(v. 7b)

  4. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains (v. 8)

  5. Persecution, death, hatred, betrayal and a great “falling away”from the faith (vs. 9-10)

  6. False Prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect (vs. 11, 23-24)

  7. Lawlessness increases and the love of many will grow cold (v. 12)

  8. The one who endures to the end will be saved (v. 13)

  9. The Gospel of the Kingdom proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations…and then the end will come! (v. 14)

  10. The Abomination of Desolation spoken of by the prophet Daniel, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand) (v. 15; Dan. 9:27; 11:31; 12:11)

  11. Great Tribulation will occur on the earth, such as has never been, or ever will be. (vs. 21-22)

The Second Coming of Christ in Power and Glory for all to see! (Matthew 24:29-31; Mark 13:24-27) (see also The Blessed Hope - the hope of every Believer in Christ)

Matthew 24:29-31

29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The Lesson of the Fig Tree (Mark 13:28-31; Matthew 24:32–35)

Mark 13:28-31

28 “From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. 29 So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that he is near, at the very gates. 30 Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

Is the Reestablishment of the State of Israel in 1948, after 2,000 years of horrific disbursement, one of the “signs of the budding of the fig tree” given by Jesus?

“Stay Awake” for Christ’s Coming (Mark 13:32-36)

Mark 13:32-36

32 “But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come. 34 It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake. 35 Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning— 36 lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. 37 And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.”

  1. The Eternal Kingdom of Christ.  (Rev. 21-22, etc.)

The Origin of True Prophecy is Not from man’s will, but from God’s Holy Spirit

2 Peter 1:19–21

19 And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. 20 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 1:10–12

10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, 11 trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. 12It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.

Prophecy:  The Revelation of God’s Eternal Plan

·  God knows who we are…from the beginning! (Ps. 139)

·  God knows our DNA, which reveals the characteristics and an intimate Personal Record of who we are individually in our physical bodies – in each of our 37.2 Trillion cells.

·  God has Securely Revealed the Future to His People through His Word, the Bible, by the Inspiration of His Holy Spirit.

***

Above all, you must understand, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved

by the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 1:20–21
